Commentary

The 36th parallel north runs through the approximate center of the Japanese archipelago. This work depicts the various countries and regions located along this line from the point of view of a single bird. The bird and the story move westward towards 12:00 a.m. point as it takes in the conditions of various places around the world at the same 19:30 time period as Japan.
