Commentary

This is the second work in the "Juyonhiki [The family of fourteen]" series which features a large family of mice as the main characters. The entire family helps making breakfast with acorn bread, mushroom soup, wild strawberries, and more, and then gathers around the table. This work depicts the beginning of a new day for the family which moved to a rich natural forest in the previous book.
