Commentary

This work consists of text woven by Asanuma Mikiko, who lost her son in the tsunami, in order to pass on the lessons learned from the disaster, with beautiful artwork by Kuroi Ken, who visited the disaster stricken areas to gather materials for the artwork. In 2019, dogwood trees were planted in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, to mark evacuation routes in the event of a tsunami.
