Commentary

"Tsunami tendenko" is a phrase from the Tohoku region of Japan which means, "if a tsunami comes, you must take responsibility for protecting yourself, run away". This work is based on a true story of elementary and junior high school students who helped each other to escape the tsunami, giving a very realistic impression of the children's will to live.
