Commentary

A sunflower blooms from among the rubble, as if it was a reincarnation of the main character's younger sister, who died in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and multiplies in number, soon becoming a symbol of recovery. This work is based on the true story of a woman who resolved to keep the story of the earthquake alive by distributing the seeds of those sunflowers.
