※This exhibition has ended.

The International Library of Children's Literature holds an exhibition "Barrier-free Picture Books from Around the World 2013 - IBBY Outstanding Books for Young People with Disabilities 2013" cosponsored by the Japanese Board on Books for Young People (JBBY), which is the Japanese Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People).

This exhibition is intended to deepen the understanding of the barrier-free picture book and its necessity. You can pick up and enjoy 60 outstanding works of 23 countries in the world, selected by the IBBY Documentation Centre of Books for Disabled Young People from among the books made for children with disabilities.

In this exhibition, various picture books such as picture books with Braille and sign language, cloth tactile picture books to be enjoyed by touching, and books depicting children with disabilities are displayed.

Knowing about barrier-free picture books leads to a deeper understanding of children with disabilities. We look forward to your visit to this exhibition.

This exhibition travels around Japan. For more information please check the website of JBBY (Japanese only).
