2017年のTeens’ Top Ten、発表

米国図書館協会（American Library Association: ALA）の一部門であるヤングアダルト図書館サービス協会（Young Adult Library Services Association: YALSA）が、2017年版のTeens' Top Tenを公表した。

Teens' Top Tenは、「10代のための読書週間（Teen Read Week）」の一環として行われ、前年に発行された作品の中から、世界中の12歳～18歳の若者の投票によって10冊が選ばれる。2017年は、8月15日から「10代のための読書週間」（10月8日～14日）までのあいだに投票が行われ、26作品の候補のうち以下の10作品がTeens’ Top Tenとして発表された。

1. Don’t Get Caught by Kurt Dinan (Sourcebooks Fire)
2. Scythe by Neal Shusterman (Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing)
3. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon (Penguin Random House)
4. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare (Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing)
5. This is Where It Ends by Marieke Nijkamp (Sourcebooks Fire)
6. Heartless by Marissa Meyer (Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group)
7. P.S. I Like You by Kasie West (Scholastic)
8. Love & Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch (Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing)
9. Genius: The Game by Leopoldo Gout (Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group)
10. If I Was Your Girl by Meredith Russo (Flatiron Books YA)

「10代のための読書週間」は、2018年は10月7日から13日まで開催される予定となっており、12歳～18歳の若者は2017年1月1日～12月31日までに出版された作品のうち自分の好きな作品を、次のTeens’ Top Tenの候補作品として、YALSAのウェブサイトから応募することができる。

なお、「10代のための読書週間」は、10代の若者に定期的な読書と図書館の利用を促すべく、1998年に始まった取組である。2017年は、“Unleash Your Story”（きみの物語を解き放て）をテーマとし、期間中は、学校、図書館、書店等で様々なイベントが開催された。
