2019年ボローニャ・ブックフェアの概要及びボローニャ・ラガッツィ賞の受賞者決定

2019年4月1日から4日まで、世界最大の児童書の見本市であるボローニャ・ブックフェア（Bologna Children’s Book Fair）が開催される。毎年、同フェアには、出版社、作家、画家、翻訳家、著作権エージェント、印刷・流通関係者、書店員、図書館員、テレビ番組・映画製作者などが訪れる。同フェアでは、ボローニャ・ラガッツィ賞（Bologna Ragazzi Award）の受賞者の紹介のほか、絵本原画展や版権の売買など、児童書をめぐる最新の動向についての情報交換が行われる。

ボローニャ・ブックフェアの概要

56回目を迎える本年は、絵本原画展主賓国のスイスが “A Swiss ABC”（スイスABC）をテーマに掲げ、アルファベットの26文字から始まるものの絵を展示する。それぞれの絵には、スイスの公用語であるロマンシュ語、イタリア語、フランス語、ドイツ語の4か国語に加えて、フェア中は様々な国からくる人々のために英語が表記される。26の州が集まってスイスができているように、独自性と多様性をもつ26枚の絵が、カラフルでいきいきとした全体像をつくる展示である。

また、本年は、コレッタ・スコット・キング賞50周年記念展示「わたしたちの声」が開催される。同賞は、アフリカ系米国人の文化と、普遍的な人間の価値を尊重する作品に与えられる。この展示に関連したパネル・ディスカッション「ブラック・ブックス・マター　アフリカ系米国人の言葉と色」のほか、絵本における手書き文字の役割、0～3歳児向けの本、独立系書店、中国の出版市場、児童文学における女性像など、多彩な内容のイベントが予定されている。さらに、国際アンデルセン賞受賞画家イーゴリ・オレイニコフ（Igor Oleynikov）の展示、カーネギー賞受賞作家のルータ・セペティス（Ruta Sepetys）といった作家や画家、翻訳家などによるトークイベントも多数行われる。絵本原画展入選作品の展示会は、ブックフェア終了後、日本各地の美術館を巡回する予定である。
