The World Through Picture Books-Librarians' favourite books from their country

* This exhibition has ended.

From July 9, 2024 (Tue.), the International Library of Children's Literature (ILCL) will hold the exhibition "The World Through Picture Books – Librarians' favourite books from their country".

To commemorate the completion of the third edition of the catalog (2023) by IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations)'s The World Through Picture Books Programme, we will introduce representative works selected by librarians from 42 countries and regions around the world. We will exhibit 360 picture books. You can feel free to take a look at them directly.

The World Through Picture Books' Programme aims to help children around the world promote international understanding through picture books. Two exhibition sets were created so that exhibitions could be held around the world, one set was donated to the National Diet Library International Library of Children's Literature and the other to the Bibliothèque Nationale de France. The International Library of Children's Literature will lend the exhibition books to libraries in Asia and Oceania, including Japan.

We are looking forward to your visit.
