2025年KPMGアイルランド児童図書賞の受賞作品決定

2025年5月19日（月）、Children’s Books Ireland（CBI）は、2025年KPMGアイルランド児童図書賞（KPMG Children’s Books Ireland Awards）の受賞作品を発表した。同賞は、アイルランド出身または在住の作家・画家によって英語もしくはアイルランド語で書かれ、前年に出版された作品を対象とする。
受賞作品
- Fia and the Last Snow Deer
- Eilish Fisher 文、Dermot Flynn 絵
同作は、詩の形式で書かれた物語である。先史時代のアイルランドで、強い絆で結ばれた少女とトナカイが、太陽を取り戻すための旅に出る。抑えた暗い色調からより明るい色合いへと変わる絵が、流れるように語られる物語の真髄を捉えている。
アイルランドの自然や神話にインスピレーションを得て書かれた同作は、Fisher の初めての作品であり、デビュー作の児童書を対象とする Eilís Dillon Awardも受賞した。
